Today’s Quote to Ponder

It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.
-Lou Holtz

I thought this quote was a beautiful reminder… if we go through life living each day in worry, fear or anxiety, that definitely makes our load (our jobs, our families, our social lives, etc), feel more like a burden than a blessing. And yet if we can learn to find some joy, some gratitude, some beauty in our days, it certainly lessens the other, less pleasant emotions, and reminds us just how wonderful our lives truly can be.

How are you carrying your load today?

If this quote inspired you, as it did me, I’d love to hear about it… feel free to comment and share!

Love and Joy,
Kim

Stepping up, Standing in your Power, and being your Best in the New Year

The end of the old year often warrants reflection as we prepare to say good-bye and start a new chapter. What made us proud in the previous year? What did we do that made us feel amazing? Do we have any regrets? What would we like to do differently / better in the new year?

Like many people, I spent some time thinking about these questions as I prepared to enter 2011. The biggest discovery that came out of my questioning was that I’ve been playing very small. I’ve been staying in my comfort zone in regards to my business, but ironically enough, doing so has not made me at all comfortable or gotten me the results that I seek. I long to serve more people by helping them to gain greater fulfillment in their spirituality, thereby increasing their joy and improving all areas of life exponentially. If I refuse to step up to serve on a higher level, then I’m not honoring my purpose, living authentically, or showing up 100% for my clients, and that’s unacceptable to me.

To fully embrace the vision that we desire for our lives can be a very scary process. To act on that vision and take steps to bring it into our reality can be daunting and sometimes overwhelming. And yet, the act of playing small, in any area of life, will eventually lead to unhappiness. It’s easy to tell ourselves that we don’t deserve more… more happiness, more fulfillment, more prosperity, more love, etc. But we should ask ourselves, how is my unhappiness assisting me / those I love / the world? If we are playing small in our own lives, what message does that send to those around us? How does it serve? How much more could we share / expand / accomplish if we really stepped up and acknowledged ourselves as the gorgeous, powerful, exceptional child of Spirit that we are?

Here are five strategies that I’m sharing to help myself, and all of you, stand more firmly in our power and reach higher in the coming year.

  1. Honor where you are now. If you’re feeling stuck, stagnant or just plain scared, acknowledge the emotions you’re experiencing and ask yourself what they can teach you? If your stuckness, fear or stagnation was a person with whom you could have a conversation, what would this emotion tell you? How is it trying to serve you? Perhaps a part of resolving the emotional upheaval you’re experiencing is to give yourself some comfort, listen to the underlying messages they have to convey to you, and find other ways to honor your feelings rather than fighting them so hard. After acknowledging them, *then* you will be better equipped to release them and step into your greater power.
  2. What are you saying? Your self-talk can dramatically impact your life, for better or worse. If you’re continually telling yourself that your incapable to do something, not worthy of happiness, too busy to take time for yourself or too stupid to achieve anything of worth, then there’s no way you will allow yourself to step out in faith and fulfill your potential. If you can’t think of anything positive to say to yourself, ask someone else… you may be surprised to learn just how wonderful others know you to be. Once you discover that you have many fabulous qualities to explore and share with the world, and begin reminding yourself that you truly *are* worthy, capable and willing to step up, you’ll be amazed how your life will shift for the better.
  3. Embrace your gifts, talents and skills 100%. Don’t know what your gifts and talents are? Ask yourself what makes your heart sing? What activities bring out your creativity and fire your passion? Often our gifts bring joy to others, so if you’re having trouble with this, you may want to ask those you love what you do that brings *them* joy, and then determine if those activities bring you happiness, as well. When you discover what your gifts are, ask yourself how you can utilize them more often, on a bigger scale or in greater ways? This will bring you fulfillment, and bring pleasure to others who have the privilege of experiencing your gifts first hand.
  4. Give yourself a break. If you’re having a bad day, don’t try to deny it. Learning to stand in our power is a process, and nobody can, or should, be positive and happy all the time. after all, if we were, how would we learn, grow and become better people? All emotions, situations and circumstances have lessons to teach us, if we have the commitment (and the courage) to learn them and live them. Learn from your bad days and then move forward. Or, as a friend of mine is fond of saying, “Go to the pity party, just don’t live there.”
  5. Ask for assistance! Life is much easier when we have loving support systems around us. Join a mastermind, find supportive friends who have been where you are and have successfully circumvented similar obstacles, and have plenty of chats with the God of your understanding. The synergy to be found in working with others can help you to shift in incredible ways.

My promise and vow to myself and to you (those I serve) is to step up and fully embrace my purpose in 2011. I commit to shining my light more brightly, sharing more often and more powerfully, and reaching further to spread more and more joy. And to do that, I’ll definitely be stepping out onto that ledge and jumping waaaay out of my comfort zone. Though it will undoubtedly be an adventure, I choose to enjoy the experience. Will you join me?

How do you intend to step up and delve further into your power in this new year? I’d love to hear about it!

Lessons, Magic and Synergy

Hi All,

I’m returning to blogging after a very long period away. In this post, I’d like to share a little about what I’ve been up to, and the lessons I’ve learned that can also help you to gain more empowerment and joy in your own life.

In late 2006, I went through a very powerful (and very scary) period of transition, questioning, and deep reflection and healing. A lot of events and situations culminated at that time, and left me feeling empty and hurt. It took a long period of rest before I could rediscover my inner strength and deep well of enthusiasm.

For a while during my healing process, I felt as if I was wandering aimlessly in a frightening and unfriendly wilderness of sorts. I felt exhausted, fearful and apathetic. Prayer sustained me through that period, although I still suffered from a sense of deep-seated confusion and uncertainty at the core of my spirit. But at last, I felt strong enough spiritually to return to wholeheartedly embracing my work and service in the world. I prayed for guidance as to how I should proceed after my extended period of silence. I was terrified that my newsletter readers, clients, friends and colleagues would no longer wish to know me due to feeling abandoned by me, since I’d been healing in isolation for quite a long time.

After setting a strong intention to get back out there and successfully serve, things began coming together again. But I still felt a void… like something crucial was missing somewhere. After praying to the God of my understanding for direction, I quickly met a woman who did similar work to my own, and who shared the purpose of empowering and inspiring others to lead their best lives. The synergy between us was almost palpable, and we quickly recognized one another as kindred spirits. We became great friends, and within a month of meeting, we also became business partners.

Everything began to “flow” immediately. Have you ever had those days when everything you do just goes perfectly, and everything you put your mind do just happens seemingly by magic? That’s what began to happen for Kelly and I, almost instantaneously after we set our intention for success.

Six weeks after meeting, we had created our own internet radio program, Empowerment Radio and people were coming out of the woodwork to hear what we had to say. We were booking high-profile guests, (Emmy and Grammy winners among them), forming amazing new friendships, and had greater creativity and more inspired ideas than we knew what to do with! It was magical.

We’ve been through plenty of setbacks, trials and dry periods since meeting in March of 2008, and have learned and integrated plenty of great lessons along the way. These include the following:

  • Stay the course
  • Listen to your guidance
  • Realize that obsticles can be blessings in disguise
  • Embrace your strengths and work on your weak spots
  • Talk things out
  • Have fun!

At long last, we’re almost ready to launch our new website, Empowerment Sanctuary. We’ll be offering one-on-one services to inspired your spirit and empower you to live the life you desire and deserve, gorgeous jewelry, educational telecourses to assist you in your personal and spiritual growth, and some of the most profound and beautiful guided meditations you’ll ever experience, if I do say so myself. :) Basically, we want to assist you to lift your life to new heights, and very soon, you’ll be able to discover all the fabulous goodies we’ve been cooking up for you. Our website is a monstrosity, but it’s almost done now, and will soon get it’s debut. To tell you that we’re excited would be a vast understatement.

So what does all this have to do with you? Well, first of all, I hope that through this story, I can show how setbacks and dark periods can often lead to brighter and more beautiful experiences than one can ever imagine. I know it might sound like the ultimate paradox. When I was going through my period of confusion, questioning and isolation, I felt such intense fear, and all I wanted to do was come out on the other side of it all. But had I not experienced that intense period of fear and despair, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to grow as strong and grounded as I have. I wouldn’t have felt the need to evolve beyond where I was, embrace Spirit even more deeply, and cherish my relationships on a more profound level. Through having the experiences that seemed so nightmarish at the time, I’ve become more confident, more grateful and more assured than I’ve ever been. Oh, this certainly took a lot of healing, self-love and inner and outer work on my part, but was it worth it? absolutely!

Never, never, never give up on yourself. Some of your greatest gifts, discoveries and experiences may be delivered to you in really ugly little packages. Ask yourself:

  • How / what can I learn from this?
  • What can this teach me?
  • Is there a way I can love myself more in order to help myself conquer this?
  • Will surrendering to the love of the God of my understanding help me to reach the light through my current darkness?

Don’t allow your obstacles to stop you… maybe they have something to teach you. Perhaps the timing is wrong, or there is a better way to go about achieving your goal, or something else needs to fall into place before your goal can come to it’s biggest and brightest fruition. This has happened to Kelly and I several times over the course of our journey thus far. rather than pushing through, we learned to be grateful for the obstacle, (again, I know it may sound like a huge paradox), and keep our minds and hearts open for the perfect solution to arise. If you’re in a similar situation, I encourage you to try this method, as well. Not always easy, and it definitely requires patience and commitment, but it can lead to some really incredible and marvelous surprises! stay open to all the amazing possibilities!

Finally, remember to love yourself. Through the darkness, through the pain, through the fear and anxiety; please try to remember that you are worthy, lovable, and capable of achieving the greatest desires of your heart. Love is the greatest gift you can give yourself… and you deserve it!

I’ll talk more about these topics, and many others, in the coming weeks. In the meantime, thank you for reading my blog… I appreciate you! If I can be of any assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Love and Gratitude,
Kim, the Spiritual Fulfillment Coach

“Everyone Of Us”

Hi All,

I’m sure you’ve all experienced feelings of loneliness, abandonment and unworthiness.  Most of us experience those feelings at one time or another, some of us more than others.  It’s always important to remember something at times like these… that is, we are all much beloved children of God!  God created each of us, each unique and individual, and therefore, each special.  All of us are precious to God.  Moreover, God appointed each of us guardian angels to love, guide and protect us as we travel life’s path!

Not sure you have an angel?  Often times, it’s those strange little synchronicities that let us know they’re there.  You may smell a scent without knowing where it came from.  You may feel something brush your cheek, hair, etc.  You may sense movement or a twinkling light out of the corner of your eye.  Or you may simply feel or sense a presence around you.

So, when you feel alone or afraid, always remember that God and your angels love you unconditionally, and will never leave or forsake you!

I love you all!

Namaste,
Kim

On Grief and Grieving

Good morning All,

My great-grandmother passed on Monday, February 27.  Her funeral was held last night.  She was 93, and lived a long and prosperous life, but was in a great deal of pain, both emotionally and physically, during the last few years of her life.  I am greatly relieved that she has now passed out of that pain.

Grief, like death, is a part of life, and a part of the healing process.  Do not be ashamed for your grief.  It is normal, and it is necessary in order to heal.  I encourage you to give your pain and unhappiness over to God, however you choose to see or worship God.  Our Creator is a benevolent, loving and gentle care-taker, who will not only care for our departed loved-ones, but for us as well.  God will help us through our grief, if we only allow God to do so.

This too shall pass.  One day we will be able to smile again, laugh again, and remember our dear ones with only love and joy.  Oh yes, there may always be an empty space in our hearts.  But I encourage you to fill that empty space up with love, joy and precious memories.  Your loved-ones are at peace… free… happy.  They ask you to enjoy those same beautiful emotions.  They love you now, as they have always loved you.

My spirit guide, Finola, channeled a beautiful message this morning on the subject of grief and grieving.

“NEVER TAKEN”

Channeled through Kim

Beloved readers, what an honor it is to speak with you this morning.  Dear ones, I understand the shattering grief that often comes upon you after the loss
of someone dear to your heart.  Many times when you lose someone you love to an illness or accident, you feel as if you have been set adrift upon an unfriendly
sea of uncertainty.  Though others may try to comfort you, you are embittered by their attempts, for you feel as if no one can possibly understand your
pain.

Beloveds, I encourage you to turn into the safety and security of God’s loving embrace during such periods of grief.  God knows that you feel lost and alone.
Though you feel adrift on unfriendly and turbulent seas, God will allow no harm to come to you.  Rest in God’s gentle presence.  Be not afraid.  Allow
yourself to grieve, for there is no shame in grieving!  Do not regret your need for grief, for like death itself, it is simply a part of life, and part
of your healing process.

Sweet readers, your loved ones never truly leave you.  They are never taken from you.  They have simply gone to other realms where they can rest and be
joyous.  They are now free from pain, from bitterness, from anger, and from all other negative or traumatic emotions that they may have dealt with during
their Earthly lives.  If you argued with them before their passing, or left important words unsaid, fear not.  For your departed dear ones know your heart’s
true feelings and genuine emotions.  Forgive yourself, as they forgive you.  Love yourself, as they love you.

Again I say, be unafraid.  This grief, like all things, too shall pass.  One day you will be able to look back upon your dear loved ones with only love,
only laughter, only joy.  Do not rush the grieving process.  Allow it to play out for you as it needs to do so.  You may always feel an empty space within
your heart, but I ask you to allow that space to be filled with love… to be filled with light… to be filled with kindness and gentleness, for yourself
and for All.

I wish you a day to be gentle upon yourself and others.  I leave you with my eternal love.

Finola

Namaste,
Kim

More On the Power of Prayer

Good morning,

I know that the process of prayer may seem daunting to some people.  Some of you may be wondering how to pray.  What do you say?  I believe there is no
one structure that must be taken in order to formulate a prayer.  As I said yesterday, all that needs to be done is to pray from a place of sincerity.  Sit in the stillness.  Give yourself the time, the patience and the self-love to learn to feel the presence of God.  For many people, this may not happen
right away — it may take time to feel God’s loving presence.  I believe that God is a loving, compassionate, forgiving God who is always with us and who
loves us no matter what.  You have nothing to be afraid of when you pray.  God will not judge the eliquence of your prayers.  God loves you as a dear child.
Prayer is a time in which you can simply rest in God’s loving arms and converse.

When I attended Sunday school as a small child, I was taught several tools that were important to include in every prayer.  I will include three of these here for your own prayer time, if you choose to use them.:

  • Gratitude.  Thank God for the people and things that are most important to you.  Thank God for the day, the events of the day, the people you love,
the flowers outside your window, the house you live in, etc.
  • Pray for others.  Say prayers for friends, family members and strangers who you want God to bless and care for.  You may choose to pray for the safety
of a family member in the military, the success of those rebuilding from Katrina and other natural disasters, or the recovery of a friend from a bad cold,
    for example.
  • Pray for yourself.  Ask God to help lead you through difficult situations or circumstances.  Ask God to help you deal with troubling or difficult relationships, to help you learn to take better care of yourself, to help you improve your finances, etc.

I hope you find some of these suggestions helpful.  If you are curious about finding some prayers that may help you begin or better your own prayer life,
a wonderful resource for you may be world prayers.org

I will close by quoting one of my favorite prayers, and a prayer that many people may already know — the Serenity Prayer.:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.  Amen.”

    Namaste!

    Kim

THE POWER OF PRAYER

As a child, I was very, very pious. It’s humorous looking back on it now, me having been so fervently religious. As someone who considers myself to be very
spiritual now, but not religious, it’s an irony. However, I do have one very important thing in common with the little girl I once was — I understood,
and fervently believed in, the power of prayer.

There are several important things to note about prayer. First of all, I do not believe that prayer has to be something that is formalized. You don’t have
to be poetic or use flowery language in prayer. Just pray directly from an open heart… my angels and guides have expressed to me that praying from a
sincere place and from a totally open heart is a delight to God.

Which brings me to another point — it is my personal belief that God doesn’t care what name you call Him / Her / Them by. Just make your prayers sincere
and passionate. After all, what’s the point in saying a prayer when you don’t “feel” that prayer in your heart of hearts? In church as a child, I was told
to pray daily, many times a day. This is a practice which I now keep up, but if you feel you *have* to pray because you were told to by somebody else,
and it is an obligation for you rather than a joy and a time of communion with Spirit, then what are you getting from that time you spend praying?

Try to make your prayer a time of great joy. In my experience, sincere and passionate prayer has untold benifits: among these are:

  • A closer walk with your Creator, in whatever form you choose to worship Him or Her.
  • A greater sense of peace and joy, both during your prayer time and during your life in general.
  • A knowledge that someone is always with you who cares about you. God will never leave you nor forsake you, and prayer to God often reminds us of this
    fact.
  • A time of stillness. Prayer time calms the mind, decreases the heart beat, and soothes the nerves

I feel called to post more on the topic of prayer tomorrow. Until then, have a blessed day!

Namaste!
Kim
